Rowdy Reef: Treasure Rush is a casual game. We collect as little as we can: no contacts, no location, no ads and no tracking. An email address is optional, and only used to sign you in.
Your player account
The first time you play online, the game creates an anonymous player ID for you automatically. It isn't tied to your name or Apple ID. You get a random fun name (like "Bubbly Narwhal 42"), and you can change it to a name of your own. Your leaderboard name is visible to other players, so please don't use your real full name. Names are checked against a list of rude words.
Your progress
Your progress (stars, coins, lives, treasure, gear, unlocked divers and personal best scores) is saved on your device and backed up to our server under your player ID, so it isn't lost. Sound and vibration settings stay on your device only.
Your email (optional)
If you choose Save with email, we store your email address so you can sign in on another device and get your progress back. We use it only to send you sign-in codes. We don't send newsletters or marketing, and other players never see it. The codes are sent through Resend, our email provider.
What we record when you play online
To run fair leaderboards, for each level you play we record:
- the level, the diver and the gear you used;
- your taps and aims in that run, so our server can replay it and check the score is genuine;
- the result: score, stars, gold collected, dives used, and whether you finished, lost or left the run.
We use this to verify scores, show leaderboards, and see which levels are too hard or too easy so we can improve the game. Like any internet service, our servers also see your IP address when the game connects; we don't use it to identify you.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers. The game's online services are hosted by Supabase, which stores this data for us, and sign-in emails are sent by Resend. Your leaderboard name, scores, and the diver and gear behind them are visible to other players.
Tracking and ads
There are none. The game has no advertising, no analytics SDKs and doesn't track you across other apps or websites.
Children
Playing needs no personal information. Adding an email is optional, and the game is not directed at children under 13; if you're under 13, please don't add an email or use your real name as your player name.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account in the game at any time: Menu → Account → Delete my account. That permanently deletes your player ID, name, email, online backup, all your runs and your leaderboard scores, and erases the progress on that device. You can also email support@rowdyreef.com and we'll do it for you.
Deleting the app only removes what's stored on your device; your account and its online backup stay until you delete them as above.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
